2B Mindset vs. Ultimate Portion Fix: My Personal Opinion

My personal preference is the Ultimate Portion Fix. 

Why? I’m the type of person that loves everything laid out for me.

I love the structure. I love knowing exactly how many servings and how big of a serving of each food group I need per day!

I love that there are different paths. You can choose the way you balance your macros or you follow the timed-nutrition where it tells you EXACTLY what to eat for each meal or snack! As a triathlete & runner, I love that I can use timed nutrition to increase my performance!

Saying that, though, I also use many of the tools I learn from 2B Mindset — such as water first, veggies most. My husband teases me about the number of vegetables I can eat. LOL! 

And I’ve done both of these programs at various points in my life…

In fact, I used Ultimate Portion Fix throughout my pregnancies and most of my postpartum journeys as it has calculations for pregnancy and breastfeeding!

Now, however, I am to the point where I know how many servings I need per day, I know portion sizes, and continue to eat BALANCED. So, I’ve been incorporating more of the concepts from the 2B Mindset nutrition program. Of course, I enjoy treats and a beer or glass of wine on occasion! Anyone that knows me well knows I am obsessed with kettle corn, love a good IPA, and love homemade hot cocoa!

What do I love about 2B Mindset?

For some people, too much structure can feel overwhelming and limiting. They want a little more freedom and love the idea of using the scale daily as a tool. (I personally don’t like to weigh daily, but everyone is different!)

This program definitely does more of a deep dive into the psychological and emotional factors when it comes to food and our relationship with food.

I love that you can do EITHER program based on where you’re at in your life, what your current struggles are when it comes to nutrition, and what your goals are for your health and fitness!

And I help my clients and new coaches choose the program that is best for them!

Either can be paired with your fitness program and both were actually created to be stand-alone meal plans (with fitness optional!). So, if you can’t workout, have an injury or limitation, or want to first start with a nutrition focus, you can!

There is no “right” program…

  • Both will help you see amazing results.
