I completed Hammer & Chisel during my second pregnancy, so weight loss was not my goal. Rather, my goal was to stay healthy & fit, and to gain strength. What I was shocked about what how much my muscles toned during this process. Despite my expanding belly, my waist line (from the back) & thighs lost inches, while my arms & back gained muscle. I absolutely loved this program, as it pushed me to my limits with strength training exercises I’d never done before (and I have done a lot of lifting throughout the years during my collegiate soccer days & then in strength training classes at our local YMCA). I struggle, though, to lift weights on my own in the actual weight room at the local gym. I don’t want to have to come up with the exercises on my own, and, to be really honest, sometimes it’s intimidating to lift in the local gym, as it’s 90% men who are lifting super heavy bars & plates. I’d often feel like I was just in the way... yet another reason I’ve fallen in love with my at-home workouts!
These workouts focus on a technique called SSP: Stabilization, Strength, and Power. Autumn Calabrese & Sagi Kalev are absolutely AMAZING trainers who provide you with easy-to-follow workouts (30-40) minutes long, designed to defined & strengthen your muscles. There is a variety of workouts (twelve total), and with both Autumn and Sagi leading workouts, you never get bored! This program targets your entire body--You’ll see changes everywhere, in your arms, legs, core. You name it! It was fun. It was effective. I didn’t have to spend hours in the gym (who can as a busy, working mom?!). But I got results. The nutrition plan that comes with the program is simple and makes portion control easy to understand, and, in combination with the workouts, helps every challenger see amazing results!
