Everyone who has tried, and has actually committed, to Beachbody and their own personal health has a story. They each have their own reasons for starting their journey and their own path. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to work with and coach many of these people as they work toward bettering themselves. I have always had a bad relationship with food. I am an emotional eater. I eat to find comfort and a sense of calm when life is stressful or overwhelming. In college I began yo-yo dieting and obsessively exercising.  These bad habits bloomed out of control and before I knew it I was battling Bulimia and Anorexia. Besides the obvious physical risks of having an eating disorder the shame and the secrecy is consuming. My life became about food and exercise and the hold that they had on my life. I was lucky to have an amazing, supportive, and strong family who got me the help I needed to get back on track and out of that dark time.

Prior to being introduced to Beachbody, I was in a rut, a funk, a bit out in left field. That's how I felt. Physically, I was far from where I wanted to be. Mentally, I just wasn't the happiest person in the world.

 

I just needed to catch break, that fresh start, a magic wand, or simply.... structure. That's where Beachbody came in. My wife informed me she got us "Shakes" and signed us up for some health challenge. Oh Boy, I thought. But then, we tried ShakeO (my word!!!), got a meal plan set, and started 21 Day Fix. I'm not super graceful, or coordinated and might suffer from CRD (Caucasian Rhythm Deficiency), but the results started showing up immediately!

I had been watching Shannon's journey for close to a year. When she became pregnant with her second baby and she was STILL working out - I thought, "if she can do it, I can do it." So I started with her clean eating challenge and was amazed at how easy it was to meal plan once you had the tools to do it. With Shakeology, I was excited to have a breakfast option that was easy to make, kept me full until snack, and tasted delicious. We're hooked.

 

I was a runner (20 miles/week) and would lift weights prior to trying any of the Beachbody workout programs. I was staying pretty static in my fitness, but wasn't a stranger to the gym.
